Five things every other platform gets wrong.
We fix all of them on day one.
-
01
The price you see is the price you pay.
One number at checkout. No "service fee" surprise. No "Refund Protect" upsell that gets denied. The UK and New York now require all-in pricing. SA shouldn't wait for regulation to do the right thing.
-
02
Resale is face-value only.
Can't go? Return it. Next person in the waitlist gets a 1-hour SMS window to claim at the price you paid. Scalpers can't run a business here — and that's the point.
-
03
Cashless that refunds itself.
Leftover balance at the end of the festival? Back on your card within 7 days. Automatically. No 30-day cliff. No 5% retention. Lost wristband? Locked with your PIN — disable it from the app, your money stays yours.
-
04
Organisers get paid daily.
You shouldn't have to wait until after the event to pay your suppliers. Daily payouts. Capital advances for trusted promoters. White-label event pages — your brand, not ours.
-
05
Built for WhatsApp, not Apple HQ.
Invites, tickets, reminders, group splits, customer service — all in WhatsApp. 94% of South Africans live there. We meet you where you are.
Tickets that live on your phone — for real this time.

The questions you'd actually ask.
Is this another crypto / NFT ticketing thing?
No. NFT ticketing failed in 2025 — Coachella's collapse, GUTS acquired by CM.com. We use boring, proven tech: rotating QR codes, Apple/Google Wallet passes, NFC wristbands. The novelty is in the UX and the economics, not the chain.
What if the venue has no signal? (Cloof, Karoo, anywhere up-country)
Door scanning works fully offline via cached tokens and Bluetooth P2P sync between scanners. Cashless wristbands are closed-loop NFC — they tap and pay without a network, then sync when one returns. This is table stakes for African festivals and we don't compromise on it.
How do you stop bots and scalpers?
Three layers. First, virtual queue on every high-demand sale (Queue-it pattern — blocks 98% of bot traffic). Second, transfers restricted to phone-contact recipients only, not arbitrary email handoffs. Third, face-value-only resale through our integrated waitlist — there's no liquid secondary market for scalpers to extract value into.
I'm an organiser — how soon do I get paid?
Daily. EFT, PayShap, or Stripe to your nominated account. Founding-100 organisers get a 7-day reserve waived. Trusted promoters with a track record can request a capital advance against confirmed sales — useful for booking deposits, marketing spend, supplier payments before doors open.
What happens to my cashless balance if I forget to cash out?
It comes back to your card automatically. Within 7 days of the event ending. No 30-day cliff, no 5% retention, no app reminder to nag you. The reason platforms keep that money is that they make money on you forgetting — we just don't.
Is this POPIA-compliant?
Yes — POPIA is baked in, not bolted on. Marketing consent is granular and granular-by-default-off. You own your attendee data; we don't resell it. Organisers can export anytime. Right-to-deletion is one click for fans. We're registered with the Information Regulator as a Responsible Party.
What about the small, free event I'm hosting next month?
Free events stay free, full stop. No "powered by" badge required. No processing-fee pass-through. Unlimited RSVPs, free QR check-in app, WhatsApp invites and reminders, calendar subscriptions for your regulars. The business model funds itself on the paid tier — small free events shouldn't subsidise it.
When can I actually use it?
Beta in 2026 with founding-100 organiser partners. Public launch shortly after. If you organise events — drop your details below; we'll WhatsApp you when your first event can run on Tixi.
First 100 organisers get 0% for life.
Drop your details. We'll WhatsApp you when we're ready to onboard your first event — and you'll lock in zero platform fees forever as a founding partner.
You're on the list.
We'll be in touch on WhatsApp. In the meantime, share Tixi with one promoter who'd care.
